My two other favorite songs from Sweatin’ One were It’s My Party and Ain’t No Mountain High Enough. This video did so well, that we decided to make Sweatin to the oldies 2.
This one took place in Pop’s Diner. On one side of the stage were banquettes, and the other side was a lunch counter with stools. For Sweatin 2, all the music and the singers were pre-recorded.
We danced to the Locomotion…Breaking Up is Hard to Do, and Jailhouse Rock. When we sang that, song an Elvis impersonator magically appeared on the set. When the workout was over Bob Marsh, the owner of the company, was dressed as a short order cook with an apron and hat and all in white. He swept the floor and the lights dimmed on him. I couldn’t believe how many people worked out with this video.
The next year we did Sweatin to the Oldies 3. What a set we had. We worked out in an amusement park. And the Ferris wheel moved. When I first saw the set I almost fainted. I walked up to the ticket booth and bought a ticket to go into the park.
Some of the songs we worked out to were Give Me Some Lovin’, Louie Louie, and The Name Game. The set was so colorful and happy. I always had something to do with the design of the sets.
For Sweatin 4, Ed S told me he wanted the set to be a surprise. There were 20 foot musical notes that were hanging on the back wall. And a stage with musicians.
This video began in black and white. There was a large curtain that opened up and the video turned into color. 20 Gospel singers marched down the staircase on either side of the set and they were singing Shout. There is nothing like Gospel singers in my book. lol. Hallelujah!
We moved to Shotgun, Mony Mony, and Proud Mary. We rolled down the river. After finishing Sweatin 4. I came home and thought about all these famous songs that Barbara M cleared .
I did a very unusual video. I was all by myself, the computerized set behind me was filled with mountains trees and a waterfall. It is called Stretching to the Classics. I was dressed in black and ….I did not say one word. Do you know how hard it was for me to do this one? I stretched to famous classical songs. To be continued…
